The Diving Ducks delivered a near‑perfect performance in Game 1, taking a clear 17–6 win. Our team faced an exceptionally hot Ducks offense, led by Moritz Scheicher and Eoghan McGarry, who combined for 17 hits.
Despite the tough start, the Metrostars stayed composed, worked together, and continued to execute defensively with discipline and focus.
The response in Game 2 was a true statement. Zachary Potts dominated the Ducks offense with an incredible 16 strikeouts over eight innings – the best single‑game mark in the league this season. His performance controlled the game from start to finish and put the Metrostars firmly back on track.
Closer Dustin Hamilton sealed the victory in the ninth inning, securing the 3–1 win.
Offensively, Benjamin Salzmann and Nicholas Schadler delivered the key moments, each driving in an important run and producing clutch hits in tight situations.
What made this weekend special was the team’s unity, focus, and character. Even after a difficult first game – and despite two ejections, which can happen in an emotional, high‑stakes matchup – the Metrostars stayed calm, trusted their strengths, and delivered a performance in Game 2 that truly reflects the identity of a playoff team.
With this victory, the Metrostars have officially secured their playoff spot – for the 16th consecutive season, marking an important milestone in a demanding and competitive year.
