Our U10 kicked off the new season with a doubleheader against the Wanderers. In the first game, both offense and defense proved that the hard work over the winter paid off — balls were flying into the outfield, the kids scored in every inning, and they took the lead right from the start. On the mound, Erik and Noah allowed only four baserunners, and even during the coach‑pitch innings the team delivered several great plays and outs. In the 5th inning, the Wanderers mounted a comeback, but the Metrostars stayed composed, held their lead, and secured their first win of the day.
This strong performance left its mark at the beginning of the second game, where the Metrostars appeared a bit tired. Although our kids finally got on the board in the fourth inning, it wasn’t quite enough. Meanwhile, the Wanderers’ bats came alive, and they capitalized on a few defensive lapses, especially in the final inning. Still, the loud and enthusiastic fans had plenty to cheer for — strong pitching from Dexter and Ezra, solid contact at the plate, and several great plays. We’re already excited to see what our players will show us throughout the rest of the season!
